The precast concrete system we use for our correctional buildings is engineered and designed to prolong the life and durability of your building. Precast Correctional Cells offer a wide range of options for layout, from cluster modules to simple additions. Construction of highly complex projects with unique designs can be done on schedule and under budget. It can be used in Federal, State and Local prisons as well as Military jails.
Front Chase
The front chase can be added to precast concrete prison cells when the facility owner wishes to allow maintenance staff to access the mechanical system without disturbing the normal daily schedule of prisoners. This reduces the size of a building.
Rear
The owner of a facility may add a rear chase to an existing precast concrete prison cell to allow maintenance staff to access the mechanical system without disturbing the inmates’ daily lives. Along the back exterior wall of each cell row, a rear chase is located. A rear chase area is enclosed with an exterior wall that has been insulated.
Dorm
Oldcastle Infrastructure’s modular eight-bed dormitory style cells offer flexible options for bed configuration. Domiciliary cells allow for multiple prisoners being confined in a smaller space, increasing the capacity of the prison. A cell can also be more economically equipped with televisions or exercise benches. There is a separation between sleeping area and sink/toilet. Custom-made precast cell units are available. It is faster to use the precast method than conventional construction.
